Owner

​Kari grew up in Fox Lake and now resides in Johnsburg. She attended Western Michigan University where she received a scholarship to compete in Track and Field. She earned her bachelor's degree in Physical Education and holds a masters degree in Athletic Administration with a Coaching Concentration. Kari is in her 16 year of teaching and 24th year of coaching. She is a sports fanatic! She enjoys not only playing but also attending sporting events. A WNBA fan, Kari tries to attend as many games as possible. Her favorite players include Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi. Her favorite past time is spent with her two children- Hayden (11) and Nora (10).

Owner

Katie grew up in Zion and now resides in Antioch.  She is a paraprofessional, soccer, boys and girls basketball and track coach at Grass Lake School. Katie is currently working on obtaining her Personal Trainer Certification. She loves spending time with her three children and caring for animals in need. Katie is a sports enthusiast! A fan of the USWNT and the WNBA, she enjoys not only watching but playing any chance she gets. 

Director

Teagan grew up and currently resides in the Lake Villa area. She earned two bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Developmental Psychology, as well as receiving a minor in Child Advocacy Studies. Teagan has taught 5th grade for two years and coached for two as well. Her passions include volleyball and math. Her favorite summer activity is mini golfing!

Camp Coordinator

Tracy grew up and currently resides in Antioch. She is Grass Lake School’s Librarian! When she is not reading or writing, she enjoys the outdoors, year round. Potential and curiosity are her favorite words! Tracy is looking forward to a STELLER summer with all of the kids!

Camp Coordinator

Maddie grew up in Lindenhurst and now resides in Vernon Hills. She is going into her sixth year of teaching and loves every second of it! Maddie enjoys playing tennis, paddle boarding, and soccer!

Early Childhood Educator

Cheryl has been part of Grass Lake School for many years and brings over 15 years of experience as an early childhood educator to Steller Athletics. Known for her kindness, patience, and gentle approach, she helps young learners feel safe and supported as they take their first steps into school life. Cheryl has a special talent for preparing children for kindergarten, making sure they build the confidence and skills they need to succeed. Her dedication and care make her an invaluable part of our team.

Reading & Writing Tutor

Jen grew up in Northbrook and now resides in Spring Grove. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lake Forest College. She studied abroad and taught in England. Jen received her teaching certification from Elmhurst University. She has taught middle school ELA at GLS for the past 4 years. She has two daughters, one in college, and a wrestler in high school. Besides supporting her girls, Jen enjoys reading, writing, and horseback riding.

Math Tutor

Melissa was born and raised in the Gurnee/Grayslake area and now resides in Antioch with her family. She has been an educator for 20 years and currently serves as a math specialist focusing in intervention. Melissa has worked with students from kindergarten through honors Algebra 1, striving to make math accessible and fun for all learners. She has four children and loves being a busy sports mom, cheering them on from the sidelines!

Camp Coordinator

Barb grew up in Beach Park and brings her love for music, art, and nature into everything she does at Steller Athletics. As a camp coordinator, she helps create a welcoming and fun environment where every camper feels included and supported. Barb enjoys sharing her creativity with the kids, whether through hands-on projects, outdoor activities, or simply encouraging them to explore their interests. Her warm personality and dedication make her a key part of the Steller Athletics team.
